The End of the Month

When we were at the cardiologist's office on Monday, Dr. Bensky said he thought we could go back to bi-weekly visits rather than weekly, but that he had to confer with Dr. Watts (the surgeon) and make sure he agreed. We've been waiting for his call ever since.

Dr. Bensky called this afternoon - he said Dr. Watts wanted us to come back next week - and that we'd be talking about scheduling the surgery at the end of the month.

The end of the month. It sounds so ominous and close when you put it that way. It isn't that it's any surprise, it isn't any sooner than we've been planning since he came home from the hospital - it just feels like it.

The end of the month - Just my luck that it's February, and not even a leap year.

*hug* You are always in my thoughts and prayers. I've said it before and I'll say it again...I love you!

  2. Erin, without a physical, set in stone date surgery was one of those things that your mind could set on the backburner just a little bit. But you're right. Now that there's a date set to it, it's a bit more "real", for lack of a better word.

I wish that I could take it all away from you, and from him. I truly wish I that I could.

  3. I don't think you'll be expecting this one. You've told us several things we cannot say, but I'd prefer the scar on his chest to one on your heart.

  4. E, for whatever it's worth... We saw a client of ours today with her 6-week-old baby who had open heart surgery when he was 2 weeks or so and she says she is amazed at how well his scars are healing. He had four incisions I guess: one long vertical one and then three shorter horizontal ones below it. Just thought that might perk you up a bit.

And if not, here's a big breasted hug: (BIG BREASTED HUG HERE)
