yeah, I think that's the thing that gets me about these - the lack of detail, coupled with the depth of expression. I think if the figures had faces, they'd lose impact. The facelessness makes them more "accessible"
One of our clients bought each of us (the support staff) one of these after we helped her through losing her dog. Made me wanna cry. They're so simple yet meaningful.
Oh Erin, that one's so sweet! I guess Susan Lordi must have one for every occasion. I never knew she was so popular either - I just discovered her work about a year ago, and have been fawning over them ever since.
ohhh I love those. I have one, a "Hope" angel. She's holding a lantern in front of her.
