So this page is counted and monitored, and I get some strange voyeuristic thrill out of seeing who has been at my blog, how they found me, where they're from whatever... I'm somehow amused and intrigued to find out that someone in NY, NY has returned several times.
Why does that thrill me so much? I have no idea. Also someone in Seattle keeps coming back, and someone in Missouri. I don't know anyone in NY, WA or MO -- so I suppose I'd just like to know what it is that keeps them coming back.
Nosy Me.
I don't think you're alone in this, E. I tend to do the same thing. Just want to see who's hanging around. Even more fun sometimes is to see how they got there. Someone got to my blog once via a google search for "beating people up in the mud." Nice to know I'm in the top ten for that! :)
ReplyDeleteI don't think we'd be writing if we weren't concerned with who our audience is. Ane how long has portland been coming around. I'm wondering if maybe my sister-in-law followed you over from a comment on my blog. Or if you visited theirs from the link on my blog, and she's doing the same thing... looking to see who's checking them out.
Heh, it's a strange circle, isn't it?
I don't see any from Portland, but there are 10 visits from NY, NY, which appear to be 3 different people who have been back repeatedly since the 6th, someone from Seattle has been here every day since he 7th, which means I've got a fan, and that tickles me *Hi Seattle!*
ReplyDeleteI guess I just wish they'd comment -- but like I said, nosey me ;)
So, um...do you get the tracking thingy by having your blog hosted by Blogger? 'Cause I can't find that feature anywhere in mine, though mine is hosted on my webspace. :( Oh, poo. I wanna know where the 2 people who read my crap live. Lol.
ReplyDeleteNo, I downloaded it from bravenet. They have all kinds of cool stuff you can add. Sorry, I read Seattle, immediately thought Portland since they're not all that far apart. Hi Seattle!
ReplyDeletegot mine from my.statcounter.com there are SO many options with it like seeing how many times they come and where they come from and how long they stay, and you can see the OS and the browser and their resolution setting (A LOT of people are looking at this at 800x600 which means it looks fucked up to them) Anyway, try it, it's VERY cool.
ReplyDeleteShall I do a redesign that will be compatible at either resolution? I would, you know....
ReplyDeleteNO! They can change their settings, or see it fucked up! I love it just like this.
ReplyDeleteohhh,E, I WANT that -- how do I get that and use it and stuff?
ReplyDeletelol L go to http://my.statcounter.com
ReplyDeleteand sign up for one - it'll give you a code to insert into you blog, and POOF you can be a voyeur too!
