Coming out of the Closet

Well, I told my mother today that we're expecting yet another baby. Felt good to stop having to hold my breath, but of course I got the "oh you poor poor stupid girl" headshake for the rest of the day. Saying it out loud has accomplished a few things - it made my stomach suddenly expand, seriously, I suddenly LOOK 4 months pregnant. And, it's made it all seem OK. I've spent 4 months obsessing. Now it seems more manageable. Not to say it's the ideal situation, but we can do this. We've done it before right?

Right.

I'm going to have to get Terra totally potty trained and out of her crib though, and get some bunk beds. I hate freakin' bunk beds, for the record.

I'm due something like December 15th. Names should be interesting. All my other kids were born in Spring and Summer. YAY at the idea of being pregnant all summer. :|

  1. What's yer beef w/ bunk beds? I always wanted a bunk bed when I was a kid. I always wanted the top bunk - even after I rolled off the top bunk at Church Camp one year. Didn't even rouse me from sleep - either I'm a heavy sleeper or I knocked myself out on impact. Ohh yes yes, you cynical snickering bastards, it DOES explain a lot! Church Camp, that is :D

  2. well, my step son did the same, at the age of 2 he found his way to the top bunk, and fell off, head first. It was my first child-related emergency situation. I'll never forget the way his little eyes rolled around in his head. Scared the bejeezus out of me!

  3. What about a bed that has the hide-away pull out. That way, they both get a bottom bunk?

I would think the name would be obvious. Sure, Doug has been used before, but it has a strong heritage, and is a semi-royal name (ok, it will be when I finally get to be king of Guatamala.) And pregnant all summer...ick. At least you are better off than my mom: I was born in September, after a long, hot summer. You won't be too heavy till fall.

    I'm a December baby :) A Yule baby even.
I still haven't forgiven my mother for her comments on my last pregnancy and then her resounding "Well, it's all for the good anyways, you didn't need another baby" after we lost her. Yeah. Family can suck sometimes.
    Congratulations btw!

  7. Magdala!
How's the book? I'm getting some complaints about it eing crooked/damaged, so please let me know - better yet, contact the addy that is on the PayPal rcpt.

My mother's answer to our daughter's death was "God was being merciful" whatever the fuck that's supposed to mean.
