Not a Tanka

Autumn Contemplations

The lilies have wilted, weighted
by the dogwood's scarlet berries
and red-tipped leaves -
one pitiable death born
in the beauty of another.

  1. yes, indeed. . . heh. I love these conversations. The odd lack of words still leaves me with the belief that you get it.

  2. I hate to overuse the word perfect.

This merits, in my book, a perfect score.

    A miniature jewel.

the weight of the words wilted, and of course, weighted.

the screaming passion of the red and scarlet dogwood's "dying" into winter.

and the passion of power and connection between the two deaths.
