Is this normal?

I don't want to sound like an ass here. But, when you have your own family (husband/wife and a kid or 3 or 4) plus your parents, your partner's parents, siblings on one or both sides... is it normal to do Christmas with friends? I mean, like, several of your friends, their spouse, and all the kids, to open presents all together??

Am I missing something? Don't get me wrong, I'm not against it but it does strike me as odd.

Or, maybe I just don't have enough sex with my friends to put them in the "Christmas Morning" list. What the hell do I know?

  1. LOL. I don't even do Christmas with extended family, much less with friends. :P

  2. Ummm, no, I don't think it is normal. Heck, I do good to pull of a Christmas with just us, much less a bunch of other folks.

  3. It's entirely normal. But only if you're on meth.

Erin, I honestly don't know how I survive this holiday every year. I love my husband and I love my kids, but Christmas just ... puts me over the edge, and by New Year's I'm ready for a medically induced coma.

Notice how often I've commented or posted lately?

    I'm just effing SPENT.

WHO ARE THESE FREAKS YOU'RE TALKIN' ABOUT???? I WANT TO SMACK THEM!

I think it all depends on the relationship they have with their family. Maybe there closer to their friends then family. Maybe there friends have always been there but the family has not..
